Singer Cher is the latest celebrity to fall foul of the Twitter death hoax.

A rumour the 65-year-old had been found dead at her Malibu home spread like wildfire, with 'RIP Cher' trending on Twitter.

The Turn Back Time star is alive and well, however, according to Gossipcop.com.

Rihanna, Mick Hucknall, Paul McCartney and Jon Bon Jovi are just some of the others in the public eye who have had untrue news of their demise splashed across the site.
