David Beckham Named 'Sexiest Man On The Planet' In Heat Mag Poll
Female celebs have long battled it out to top FHM's annual Sexiest Women in the World poll, but now it's time for the lads to get a look in, as those saucepots over at Heat magazine have unveiled their inaugural Sexiest Man On The Planet list.
But despite all the rippling muscles, coiffed hair and perfectly trimmed designer beards among the blokes in celebsville nowadays, there is still one old timer that is showing the young'uns how it's done.
So the winner of Sexiest Man on the Planet 2012? Why, it's Golden Balls himself Mr David Beckham of course!
Becks proved he really has still got it, beating off stiff competition from young whipper-snappers like Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson to the title of Hottest Hunk.
But it was a closely fought competition, as also charting highly were some of Hollywood's finest with Johnny Depp, Ryan Renoylds and Bradley Cooper all making the top 10.
Some of X Factor's most delectable males also debuted on the list, with Olly Murs charting at 22, and man bander Gary Barlow coming in at 13. One Direction's Harry Styles also beat bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik who all managed places 18, 47 and 51 respectively.
Meanwhile Strictly's Harry Judd bagged himself 12th place, proving that women go for ballroom champions over Kings of the Jungle after beating McFly bandmate and I'm A Celeb champ Dougie Poynter, who landed at 45.
Over 1,000 readers took part in the Heat poll, with the results from 26-101 based upon their votes alone, and the top 25 based upon reader votes combined with the votes of an expert panel.
Of the list Heat chief Lucy Cave said: "There is genuinely no-one more deserving of the title Sexiest Man On The Planet 2012 than David Beckham. He's got the lot - talent, style, sex appeal, charisma. Women adore him, men want to be him, and we're absolutely thrilled that he has topped our poll."

The full list, from 1-101 will appear in this week’s issue of heat on sale Tuesday 31 January. The heat website www.heatworld.com/101hunks will be running Hunks Week, featuring content including a video of the judging process, a list of 20 Hot New Faces, and a variety of features such as 'Had it, Lost it, Got it back!' throughout the week.
