Prince Charles Meets Headteachers To Mark 10 Years Of Teaching Institute

A Royal Visit For School Heads

The Prince of Wales and Education Secretary Michael Gove will meet leading headteachers on Tuesday at an event to celebrate 10 years of the Prince's Teaching Institute.

The PTI, established to encourage teachers to rediscover their passion for their subject, is holding its second head teachers' seminar at Madingley Hall in Cambridge.

The seminar is part of the PTI's school leadership programme, created last year at the request of headteachers to help communication between schools.

Charles will give a short speech to delegates and meet PTI ambassador, the playwright Sir Tom Stoppard.

The Prince and Mr Gove will also watch training sessions and speak to delegates.

The PTI was formed following a series of popular summer schools for teachers, each of which focused on specific subjects.

Charles has been president of the PTI since June 2006.
