Supermarket CCTV cameras have captured the astonishing moment a man tried to abduct a seven-year-old girl.
Brittney Baxter was toy shopping at an Atlanta Walmart when the man approached her from behind, clamped his hand over her mouth and picked her up.
The little girl began kicking and screaming at which point the man drops her and hurried off.
Brave Brittney told Newsnet5 she was able to escape after remembering a talk about “Stranger Danger” from her parents.
She said: “I was screaming and kicking him and he just dropped me off and ran off.”
Her mother Georgean said: “If this can help save another kid, then that would help save somebody else.”
Recalling her Stranger Danger knowledge, Brittney added: “You try to get away and go tell somebody that you trust.”
Police examining the footage were able to see the suspect’s getaway car and he was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping.
Thomas Woods, who was on parole for manslaughter, denies the charge, telling reporters: “I didn’t bother nobody, I was never there.”
