IN A NUTSHELL: Felipe's been digging into the archives again, and this time it was Lacoste's 1966 designs for the French national ski team that caught his eye.

BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: The vintage skiwear theme translated into mod styling with collarless second skin merino shifts and enveloping luxe parkas. Chic utility was order of the day and we just loved the zipper cape sleeve tunics and removable hooded tops. Cosy but also terribly cool.

F-ROW: Barney's Simon Doonan and Leigh Lezark were amongst the NY party crowd who were sitting pretty on the front row.

VERDICT: This was vintage alpine charm but a utility edge that kept the mood anything but twee.
