But what of those great characters from fiction who were also unlucky in love? What would they make of a world where romance is promised to be just a click and a picture upload away?
From the hapless, to the hopeless, to the downright unhinged, we asked ten of our favorite literary creations to dip their toes in the world of online dating and come up with their very own profile pages.
