Lana Del Rey's 'Video Games' Becomes A Video Game Itself With 'Chiptune' Cover (VIDEO)

WATCH: Lana Del Rey's 'Video Games' As A Video Game

For those not in the know, 'chiptuning' is when someone takes a current song and recreates it so it sounds like it was made for an '80s computer game - using actual pieces of old-school tech.

So it's entirely appropriate that pop's current flavour of the month, Ms. Lana Del Rey, should have her biggest hit, Video Games, subjected to the powers of the chiptune.

The resulting YouTube video, created by Leeni, has also got a 8-bit aesthetic going on - so much so, in fact, that it could easily be from a BBC computer from back in the day, patched together from some truly weird computer games into a Frankenstein's monster-type whole.

As for whether you like the new cover for its musical qualities, that's probably best left as a matter of opinion - but just to help you compare and contrast the original and the reinterpretation, here's the real deal below to refresh you memory.
