Speaking to Dan Lobb and Kate Garraway on Daybreak, a remorseful Cher apologised and dismissed her comments as "word vomit".
Cher, 18, said: "Basically I said something on radio that I shouldn't have said and it wasn't intended to sound as bad as it did.
"All I was saying was that I would love to perform with her live and then I made a little joke about only if she sang live. I want to say sorry to her if she found that offensive.
"It just got blown out of proportion. At the end of the day, she was the person who got me where I am today. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be sat here now talking to you."
Cher insisted she has learned her lesson from the blunder, adding, "I should still be on top of it. I'm in the public eye now, so word vomit is not good!"

Vomit! What 'f it offended her’, it clearly did! If you must, apologise PROPERLY! Cher, cold comments whereas if not for Cheryl’s warm ‘sweet heart status,’ where might we be? This affair will remind many of the unbecoming sideways twist to the mouth, now duly confirmed by hindsight as indicative of downright misplaced arrogance, and the reason some found it hard to warm up to you. Tis wise to watch recent TV, see if anchors are pulling back or gushing forward as interviews progress.
I am no ‘biggest’ fan of Cheryl Cole, but she is tenacious which is a good quality except say when one does 'fight for this love’ for a confirmed love rat. Whatever, I am much more less of a fan of ANY self-important wannabe divas. Clue, humility. How often does one hear a self-respecting artist, talented anybody, praising themselves to diminish another? Ever heard Mariah, Adele, Amy, Michael, Whitney, Beyoncé, Kelly..., say another artist could not sing? YOU got lucky in arguably a karaoke contest, the singing ‘talent’ of itself is nothing a year with a vocal coach, performing school would not get the average human given humans naturally sing, do 'vocalise' anyway . That sideways sneer you seem rid of outwardly, as easy as it was to decode it represented ill-advised arrogance, as difficult it will be to eradicate inwardly, needs to dig deeper. The ‘Hilson’ bought ‘ghetto cool' but the voice is still nothing to diminish others over, ever.

It's a fact that Cheryl cannot sing so the use of auto-tune is hardly surprising. She has a weak voice which she gets away with in a harmony group situation but it just does not stand up to the scrutiny of solo work. The worrying thing is that she stll sounds so bad AFTER the auto-tune. Mind you I don't like either of these women so I'm not going to defend either of them.
