Bobby Brown paid tribute to his ex-wife Whitney Houston on stage at a gig in Connecticut just hours after he walked out of her funeral on Saturday.

The late singer's famous friends and family members gathered at a church in Newark, New Jersey to honour her memory, but Brown was seen leaving the service after just 20 minutes.

He subsequently released a statement blaming his premature departure on seating issues, and he took to the stage with his New Edition bandmates in Connecticut later that evening as planned.

During the show at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Brown took a moment to remember his ex-wife and received a standing ovation from the crowd as he raised a finger to the sky and said, "Blessings to my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. I love you," according to E! Online.

He is due back on stage at the Newark PAC venue in New Jersey on Sunday

Whitney was no innocent in this situation. Bobby Brown is certainly no angel but Whitney also made choices and went down roads that were not good for her. I hope that Bobby can grow up and be the rock that his daughter needs. Unfortunately he has not yet risen to the task. I hope he can.

I didnt realise there was such a thing as star billing at a funeral just that family sits at the front and everyone.else behind his behaviour is selfish and shamefull and quite an insult to his daughter his x wife and all other family members to walk out of a funeral because he didnt have a good seat.i guess he is so far removed the

So nothing like private dignity. Has to milk her death for his own publicity. Such a nice guy, especially since he was the one who got her into drugs in the first place.
