IN A NUTSHELL: There was an element of school girl style in Weswtood's Autumn/Winter collection, with pleated skirts, buttoned-up cardigans, scarves, rugby shirts and opaque tights adding to the youthful look. Yet, as always, this show was nothing if not ecclectic. These girls had a sense of city chic about them, as Savile Row inspired tailoring came into play in checks and tartans. That's not forgetting the colourful prints inspired by African body painting and Westwood's signature evening dresses and smoking suits that finished the show.

BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: The metallic school girl skirt could become an Autumn/Winter staple, but it was the African print knit dresses in a predominantly orange and purple colour palette which stood out from the traditional Westwood tailoring. (We also had our eye on the super chic clutch bags draped over the shoulders with their long, chain straps).

F-ROW: Leigh Lezark, Sadie Frost, Janice Dickenson, Heston Blumenthal, Harold Tilman, Bip Ling, Jacquetta Wheeler, Jo Wood.

VERDICT: This diverse, London inspired collection was playful and pretty in places but the thing we most admired about this season's show was the way in which masculine tailoring and white, crisp shirts were made to look feminine and elegant, in an effortless and informal way.
