Today, 24 February 2012 would have been Steve Jobs' birthday. The Apple founder was born back on 24 February, 1955.

A year ago, we were wishing Jobs a happy 56th birthday, and hoping his health held up to deliver yet more uber-popular gadgets and inventions but sadly he was to pass away on 5 October last year after suffering from pancreatic cancer. He had stepped down as Apple CEO a couple of months previously.

Even after his passing, Apple fans still honour Jobs' birthday, and are fascinated by his extraordinary life.

Adam Lashinsky, author of Inside Apple told The Huffington Post in an interview earlier this year: "There will never be another Steve Jobs. No-one can match his obsession and dedication and control over the company."

Here's a look back of some of Steve Jobs' best quotes:

"We've never worried about numbers. In the market place, Apple is trying to focus the spotlight on products, because products really make a difference. [...] Ad campaigns are necessary for competition; IBM's ads are everywhere. But good PR educates people; that's all it is. You can't con people in this business. The products speak for themselves."
