Mark Wright Sought TV Presenting Advice From Ant And Dec

Mark Wright's first effort as the frontman of a primetime TV show will soon come to an end but as the host of Take Me Out: The Gossip his presenting skills leave a lot to be desired.

So it's hardly surprising Mark enlisted the help of two seasoned professionals - Ant and Dec.

Former The Only Way Is Essex hunk Mark called on the Geordie duo to give him the confidence he needs to present new show My Man Can.

Speaking to The Sun, Mark said: "Ant and Dec are heroes of mine. What they do is amazing. They are total professionals.

"When I knew I was doing this new show I approached them for some advice.

"I said I find myself practising the links loads as I'm worried about getting them wrong and they said that's exactly what you have to do."

Mark has taken comfort in the fact Dec assured him it's OK to be nervous: "Dec was saying they practise over and over so when it comes to the actual show they feel confident.

"They even said it was fine to be nervous as it keeps you on your toes."

And it seems Mark's confidence has taken a knock as the "talented" star had previously admitted he wasn't daunted by standing in front of a camera.

Speaking to Hello magazine earlier this month, he said: "I'm not daunted by things I believe I'm talented at.

"If you asked me, could I be the next top basketball player? I'd say no. If you ask me, could I present X Factor one day, yeah, I could."

Can't stand him - don't care if he's good or not at presenting - he just makes me want to turn the TV off every time I see his face.

well said

Good luck to him, but Ant and Dec have been in the game since they were little kids. They make it look easy. Give it a few years Mark, get into acting, get some experience under your belt and you could be the next James Bond. Every one has to start somewhere.
04:01 PM on 02/25/2012
surely you meant brook bond
12:51 PM on 02/26/2012
james bond ????? lol,,you would need sub titles

Who is Mark Wright please and what does he do to contribute to GDP.
10:53 AM on 02/25/2012
Ant and Dec are true professionals but I'm afraid Mark Wright is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard .

Sorry to disappoint people but anything other than someone for some women & some men to look at he has no talent or skill's and as for host any tv program he's as much use as a wet paper bag.
I have read and heard the comments that young people are not educated to a level in preparing them for work and that is certainly right in Marks case. Having watched him a couple of times you would really have to question did he even ho to school as he's not very bright which is supported by the number of comments made about him by radio/tv presenters is that he's a bit thick.
I suggest that it would be better if he learnt the trade first and started at the bottom.

Perhaps tea boy would be about right.

I think Dermot o'Leary needs replacing ..the way he shouts turns away when he is shouting the name of the Contestants and THE JUDGES!!! is really annoying..I think Mark Wright should be given a chance on X Factor.
12:53 PM on 02/26/2012
on xfactor yes,,,,,right up his street,,they are all as thick as two short planks
12:54 PM on 02/26/2012
but not as thick as the people who watch it

We all start somewhere in the career of our choice, he got a foot in the door and good luck to him. You either make it or fail..I wonder how many people who make acerbic comments on here, actually have a job at all, or are even bothered about getting one to start with..

We usually start in "the career of our choice" by learning the trade at the bottom and working our way up. Shoving this person in at the top has proved only that he has no discernable personality and lacks the "quick-wit" that is generally needed by live presenters. Neither of those can be taught. There are many hard-working presenters on local TV, who have served their time and proved their worth, who are more deserving of the opportunity for wider fame.

True , but it's still his career choice , i know as well as you that he's a waste of space, i also think that he should be given a chance to prove himself. He may come good, it's a long shot, but there'll be a few getting gobsmacked if he does...

Anybody can seemingly get on TV these days, with the plethora of channels , reality shows and media companies out there to produce them. In the olden days you worked your way up, and positions to present programmes were very very limited, not least because there was on 3 channels for a long time. Its the same with anything these days, people want instant fame, riches and success without working for it. Thats why so many people dont want to work because its beneath them. Wrong attitude altogether.

How has he been given a new show, when he was so abysmal on the first one??? Give the job to someone who CAN do it! You don't put someone into a job and THEN train them - you train them first until they're good enough.
It's about time we consigned these so-called reality-stars to the recycle bin where they belong.
12:41 AM on 02/25/2012
It's not his fault that he was cast for this position. His agent was probably rubbing his hands with glee thinking this was his gravy train. Got it wrong didn't he?. Mark is not a natural presenter. Not quite sure what his forte is, I doubt he knows either. But good luck, he's done no harm.
12:27 AM on 02/25/2012
Is anyone really surprised? After all this guy came to be a "celebrity" simply for having the face he does & being on a reality TV show - don't need talent to do that, so when a job actually calls for some level of ability, no wonder he's floundering. Talentless nobody.
12:07 AM on 02/25/2012
He should hang aroung town centres and give out fashion advice... Nothing more!
11:42 PM on 02/24/2012
Asking that talentless pair about presenting is a joke - Tame humour and as wooden as a couple of manaquins. Mark Wright seems harmless enough but there aint much between the lugg holes, He should stick to daytime TV and do some Anchor work i.e outside broadcasting tawkin to ordinary peeps on da streets is abowt it init
11:38 PM on 02/24/2012
Good looking bloke, but thick as plank. as for rubbish like 'Take Me Out', Towie and other cr*p, demolish them all and good riddance.
09:01 AM on 02/25/2012
Just switch off.Simple!
12:19 PM on 02/25/2012
I do every time his face appears on TV.
08:04 PM on 02/25/2012
Lol! I do, but teenage daughter throws a strop,LOL!

Has anybody ever noticed that all these so called celebrities who go on reality shows end up on Daybreak or This Morning? They all think theyu are stars when they appear on these shows just like that stupid Allison Hammond, (I think that is her name), she appeared on Big Brother and she is now a regular on This Morning
11:39 PM on 02/24/2012
I think Alison Hammond was a regular before Big Brother.
12:28 AM on 02/25/2012
No, she wasn't. The whole point of Big Brother is that it casts unknowns.
