One of the largest teaching unions in Wales has become the latest body to refuse the government's pension offer.
UCAC, which has more than 4,500 members, announced on Friday it had "unanimously" rejected the latest deal and wants to negotiate further with the government.
Elaine Edwards, UCAC's general secretary said: “We consulted with members before coming to a decision, and the message has come back loud and clear: the government's offer is totally unacceptable and teachers and lecturers are prepared to take further action to secure a fairer deal.”
The Wales-based union represents schoolteachers, headteachers and further and higher education lecturers.
The NASUWT made their decision in January and general secretary Chris Keates accused the DfE of wasting "valuable time" and described the consultation process as a "debacle".
Meanwhile on 30 January, the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) announced it would become the first union to accept the government's controversial pension changes.
The ATL, which represents 160,000 teachers, said the move followed the results of a poll of members in which 91.6% of respondents voted in favour of the proposals.
