Oscars 2012: Sacha Baron Cohen Aka The Dictator Causes Red Carpet Chaos For Host Ryan Seacrest (VIDEO)

'The Dictator' has caused chaos on the Oscars red carpet, following a triumphant face-off with the Academy over his attendance in full military garb.

It all seemed to be going so well. General Admiral Aladeen aka Sacha Baron Cohen was happily giving red carpet host Ryan Seacrest details about his red carpet outfit:

"Hello Death to the West, I'm wearing John Galliano, with socks by K-Mart. As my friend Saddam Hussein once said to me, socks are socks. Don’t waste money."

But there was an ominous urn in his hands, with the face of North Korean late dictator Kim Jong-il on the front. And so the Dictator carried on:

"It gave me an opportunity to bring my dear friend and double standards partner Kim Jong-il - it was his dream to come to the Oscars and be spread over the red carpet and Halle Berry’s chest again..."

And then it all went haywire, as the Dictator appeared to trip, and the contents of the urn - about a hundred ashtrays' worth of powder, later reported to be likely to be pancake mix - went all over the thousand-dollar Burberry suit of a mortified Seacrest, who struggled to keep his composure.

The Dictator was unabashed, comforting Seacrest: "You can say you are wearing Kim Jong-il" - before he was unceremoniously bundled off by security.

Seacrest addressed the camera and his co-presenters: "I had a feeling he was up to something, I just didn't know what form it would take..."

The ceremony's senior producer Brian Grazer insisted on a meeting with Cohen immediately afterwards, to make sure there would =be no more surprise appearances during the ceremony.

The movie mogul revealed, "Those shenanigans caused me to go into his dressing room because he had to change. He made me worry that he could create a problem during the show, but he promised me that he wouldn't... and he's a man of his word."

I wish he had enough to go round to spill on everyone right there!

Well done sasha, it doesn't take much to shock the Americans who actually believe the oscars are something more than an ego booster for Hollywood and it's overpaid and, for the most part, talent deficient actors and actresses. The real talent has and always will be behind the camera. I dare you to it with Bob Hope's ashes next year!

I agree, anyone who stains or attempts to stain the vanity of the red carpet, I'm a fan of!

Sacha Baron Cohen has always been controversial and this showing was no exception. It's the way he upsets some people which make others laugh.

the problem with the oscars is that the actors (note: not stars) are so up themselves that they do not want anyone taking the attention off "them" as Sacha did, well done mate, just shows how pointless these"luvvie" awards are.

Like him or loathe him, Sacha has a bewildering knack of doing all the wrong things at just the right time. The Dictator persona suits him well, he is an idiot but he is also right on the mark. Respect!

There is a cure for finding this half wit amusing , its called growing up.

Spot on. You have hit the nail on the head. Never have been able to fathom out what all the fuss is with this "individual". In my opinion he falls into the same category as so many more of the so-called modern or stand-up comics. Funny?

Sorry, I dont think this was an appropriate time to act like an idiot.
There is difinately a time and place for this behaviour.I am totaly aware that this is the type of stunts this guy does day and daily, however, lets use our good manners at a time like this.

Time and a place? It's an award ceremony for adults who play make believe.... let's not hype it up more than it is.
09:38 AM on 02/27/2012
What a laugh, loved it. The oscars just take themselves far too seriously. They've got their heads so far up their backsides they can't see the fun.

Sacha Baron Cohen is about as funny as Ricky Gervaise and thats not funny at all. These two are an embarrassment to Great Britain.
Whatever happened to real comedy ??????

I've always thought him to be very controversial and sometimes close to the mark or in fact out of his mind with anarchic episodes, especially when filming Bruno in Jereusalem, and killing the demographics of a tiny Romanian village for his own financial gain BUT, this time, he is targetting a justified situation at a hugely amazing opportunity, I think his message is invaluable to the leaders of the West and I do sorta, recognise that as a step in the right direction. I will however NEVER forget his disrespect to his own religion or the destruction of a helpless community.
09:59 AM on 02/27/2012
yisroelshalom, re: disrespect to his own religion, have you ever considered learning to laugh at yourself a bit more? and did it also occur to you that because HE is jewish, he was making a point about how people need to stop being constantly 'offended' all the time, and just need to relax a little. So breathe.
12:09 PM on 02/27/2012
It seems that you homed in on just one part of my critical comments being the upset caused to the Cheredim in Jerusalem during the filming of Bruno, I too am a frum Jewish man who happens to be Gay and have been a comedian for the best part of 20 years so I am probably more qualified to comment than most yourself included.

I also do not need to be taught how to laugh at myself when I look the way I do, I am a humerous man but, I don't think that, 1) going into the face of ANY religion to deliberately insult it is funny, or 2) humiliating, betraying the confidences, misleading or lying to a tiny, poverty stricken community for his own financial gain and narcissistic glory is in the slightest funny and I do find it "OFFENSIVE".

Him being Jewish and further a Cohenim, should be more religiously and culturally aware of the communities he antagonised. secondly, he should have had the villages well being in his heart and been shommer of their feelings before, during and after his project, leaving the place improved rather than destroyed, in turn and because of his high profile as a Jewish comedian, he should have been a positive ambassador of his people whilst taking the mickey, No one laughs more at ourselves than Jews but comedy and insult are a little like love and hate, a VERY thin line.

I would also like to add that I in principal, I am a fan of Sasha B Cohen, I do enjoy his comedy very much, I also would like to say that his antics at the Grammy's was classic, simply because his "entrance" was worthy of a grammy in its own right,

So possibly you may need to pay attention to detail and understand my comments a little more and possibly take your own advice about being relaxed and competent in your consistant breaths! If you are in doubt, there is a mindful bodyscan on You Tube to assist in relaxation.

Kind Regards
