A clumsy waiter has been filmed accidentally tipping five pints of beer down German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s back.

The soggy mishap occurred at the Christian Democratic Union’s Ash Wednesday event in Demmin.

The hapless waiter has been identified as Martin D, Metro reported.

He told Bild: “A colleague should have brought her the beer. But she was so nervous, she asked me to do it for her.

"I was shoved from behind, and tried to catch the beers, but it was too late."

Mrs Merkel took it in her stride however, breaking into a broad grin, flicking her hair and then raising a toast.

Good for her.

if you look closely the tray was tipping when the gentleman that supposedly knocked into him , i think he was paid to do it , and if you notice that she was going to explode but looked direct into the persons phone and bit her tongue and flung it off ... All i Say is heres a few beers on us Germany !

Well done to the Waiter. He did what millions of the general public would like to do. Thanks to austere policies from leaders such as her - the lives of millions of people are being ruined, whilst her own life remains unaffected and luxurious.
