Moneyball star Jonah Hill may have been championed for his dramatic weight loss, but it looks like the pounds are creeping back on if his Oscars appearance is anything to go by.

Last spring, the portly actor was reported to have set a goal to shed 30 pounds ahead of his demanding role in the action-packed 21 Jump Street.

Looking almost gaunt at the ESPY awards in July, a determined Hill revealed he had surpassed his goal by an extra 10 pounds.

According to US Weekly, the actor gained weight when he first began training for the role, but once he began working with a nutritionist and trainer, the pounds began melting off.

Hill also spoke to ABC about how Japanese food was also key to his dramatic weight loss, but later admitted that beer is his weakness when it comes to maintaining his healthy lifestyle.

Earlier this month he told the Kyle and Jackie O radio show: "I tried to be healthier. I still drink beer - that's my Achilles' heel I think. I went to a nutritionist and I said, 'I'll lose weight, I'll eat healthier and whatever, but figure out how I can drink beer. “

He added: “It's so annoying because if I don't drink beer I get really thin, and then when I drink beer I get a little bigger."
