Police have launched an investigation after the bodies of a woman and a young child were found in a house.
The woman is believed to be in her 30s, and the child around five years old, Lothian and Borders Police said.
Emergency services were called to a house in the Parkhead Grove area of Edinburgh late yesterday afternoon where the bodies were found.
A police spokesman said: "Police in Edinburgh can confirm that they are currently making inquiries into the deaths of two people in the Sighthill area of the city."

Tearful women laid bunches of flowers at the gate to the property. A cuddly penguin toy was also placed there.
One bouquet bore a message which said: "RIP Michelle and Leon. You are with the angels."
Two uniformed police officers and a police command unit van were at the scene.
A police spokesman said: "At the moment inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
He added: "Inquiries are at a very early stage and there is no further information at this time."
The area was still cordoned off at 7.20am this morning and officers were at the scene.

An Edinburgh City Council spokesman said: "We are aware of the police investigation and will provide all the assistance we can."
