Colin Firth's Flight Fight Drama

Flight Fight

Oscar-winner Colin Firth was caught up in a flight drama when armed cops stormed his plane following a mid-air bust-up between fuming flyers.

Colin was in Los Angeles for the Academy Awards on Sunday to hand grand dame Meryl Streep her third Oscar for her turn as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.

He made his way home on Wednesday aboard a British Airways flight from LA bound for his native London, but an altercation left passengers on the aircraft terrified.

According to The Sun, two passengers were involved in a punch-up at 30,000 feet over an alleged theft and ignored stewards' pleas to calm down.

BA staff then reportedly called ahead for police back-up at Heathrow Airport, and armed officers raced onto the plane as soon as it touched ground.

The newspaper reports that Colin, his wife Livia, their two sons and model Jodie Kidd were among the VIP passengers left shaken by the incident.

A source told The Sun: "Passengers were in meltdown when it spiralled out of control. It was scary for flyers who feared for the safety of the flight.

"It was far more dramatic than anything at the Oscars."

Passengers were told to stay in their seats as cops removed the suspects. No arrests were made.
