Gerard Butler Signs On For First Role Since Rehab, In 'Brilliant'

The Butler Still Doing It

Gerard Butler has reportedly lined up his first post-rehab role in thriller Brilliant.

The Scottish star is said to be replacing Eric Bana in the diamond heist movie, reported Variety.

He is tipped to play a small-time criminal who teams up with a female thief to pull off the biggest diamond heist of all time in Robert Luketic's film.

Butler looked dapper as he celebrated his clean bill of health at the Oscars parties, just days after checking out of the Betty Ford Centre, where he had apparently spent three weeks being treated for prescription drug addiction.

Unlike the previous debacles surrounding the rehabilitation of Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, etc. Butler had managed to keep his problems under wraps until he emerged from treatment.
