Looks like Jennifer Lopez was playing it safe with her American Idol outfit - the two piece clothing combo was showing off her fabulous legs instead of threatening a nip slip at every turn (*cough*Oscars*cough*).

As an ensemble, we reckon that from the waist down everything is lovely. From the waist up everything is almost as good except her shoulder seems to be growing its own rival hairstyle thanks to the giant asymmetrical ruffle.
She also seems to be doing the George Clooney "point at some guy in the audience for no apparent reason" red carpet trick.
In terms of the men's style: Steven Tyler (left) is wearing one of the most Steven Tyler-esque outfits we've seen in a while. And Randy Jackson (right) has decided to match his jewellery to his pocket hanky.
