Errol Jeffrey, Danny Dixon, John Otugade and Christopher N'Jie Jailed For Killing Bogdan Paduret

'Killed For Doing His Job': Four Men Jailed Over Bouncer Murder

Four men have been jailed for life for killing a nightclub doorman after he refused entry to a group of revellers.

Bogdan Paduret was shot twice in the head as he returned home from a shift at the Mayfair Club near Piccadilly in central London on November 27 2010, the Old Bailey heard.

Errol Jeffrey, 29, of east London, was given a minimum term of 35 years, Danny Dixon, 29, of west London, who was on licence for manslaughter at the time, was told he would serve at least 32 years, and John Otugade and Christopher N'Jie, both 19 and of east London, were told to serve at least 25 years each.

About three weeks before his death, Mr Paduret, known as Tony, had refused entry to a group of around 10 people trying to get into the club and a fight broke out.

Prosecutor Crispin Aylett QC said: "Tony Paduret had simply been doing his job, Nonetheless, Jeffrey and his friends must have felt that they had not been shown the respect to which they considered themselves entitled."

Romanian Mr Paduret was shot outside his home in Temple Fortune, north London, in front of his friend, Constantin Cimpan, who had given him a lift home from work.

Dixon located the victim for gunman Otugade, who then fled on a motorbike driven by N'Jie. Mr Aylett said Otugade had "almost certainly never met" the victim, but was doing Jeffrey's "dirty work".

"Otugade was looking to make a name for himself - to acquire a degree of underworld celebrity," he said.
