Divine Intervention: Shockblast's 'God Is Back'

God: Just A Slob Like One Of Us?

What if God was one of us? Joan Osborne first posed the question in 1995 with her single One Of Us and has been asking intermittently on the radio ever since.

At her prompting, we’ve all pondered what would happen if God was one of us, just a slob like one of us, or indeed a stranger on the bus trying to make His way home.

Now, a new art project called God Is Back is taking the question a step further.

Produced by Shockblast with the helping hand of Photoshop, the images take God from Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam in the Sistine Chapel and places Him in a series of everyday situations among us mere mortals.

Scroll through the images to see Him at a concert, hailing a taxi and taking a bath (because even deities can start to smell a bit).

Thought-provoking art, a bit of harmless fun or just plain offensive? What do you think?
