Tim Burton's 'Dark Shadows': Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter In Character (PHOTOS)

FIRST LOOK: Dark Shadows' Gothic Characters

Photos of Dark Shadows' stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green and Helena Bonham Carter as their characters in the Tim Burton gothic-horror tale have been unveiled in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

Depp, who plays powerful vampire playboy Barnabas Collins, can be seen with some very sharp fingers and slick hair, while Bonham Carter - Burton's wife - who plays Dr Julia Hoffman, the Collins family's live-in psychiatrist, is pictured with copper hair and a seventies style top.

First look photos of Pfeiffer in her role as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard and Green as Angelique Bouchard, the witch who turns Collins into a vampire after he breaks her heart, have also been revealed.

But while the female stars still look beautiful as their Dark Shadow characters, it's unlikely Depp, who appears to sport a prosthetic nose, will make as many hearts flutter as he did when he played pirate Jack Sparrow. And Edward Cullen can rest assured - he's still the hottest blood-sucker in Hollywood.

Dark Shadows was originally a show that ran on the ABC network between 1966 and 1971, featuring ghosts, vampires, zombies and werewolves. Burton's adaptation will see Depp play the master of Collinwood Manor. He makes a grave mistake of breaking the heart of Bouchard, who not only turns him into a vampire but also buries him alive.

Two centuries after his death, Collins is inadvertently freed from his tomb. The vampire then returns to his mansion only to find his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin.
