Dancing On Ice: Andy Whyment Booted Off The Ice

Dancing On Ice: Who's Been Frozen Out?

Coronation Street star Andy Whyment is heading back to Weatherfield's famous cobbles after being frozen out of ITV's Dancing on Ice.

The actor, who plays Kirk Sutherland, lost a skate-off against professional skier Chemmy Alcott in the latest round of the ITV1 show.

Whyment and his partner Vicky Ogden found themselves in the bottom two along with Alcott and her partner Sean Rice by a combination of low scoring by the three panel judges and an unimpressed public.

Whyment, 30, thanked his wife, the Corrie producers for letting him do the show and said: "I have had an amazing time."

Before the skate-off, Whyment said he knew it was going to be his last dance so just intended to enjoy it. And he was proved right.

Wearing head-to-toe white, he and Ogden spun and twirled out their last routine to Elvis Presley's Suspicious Minds but did nothing to change the judges' minds.

Louie Spence, Robin Cousins and Katarina Witt were unanimous in saving Alcott, 29. She had "a little bit more", said Spence, with Cousins agreeing that the soap opera star had put in a performance of "gusto" but it was not enough.

X Factor flop Chico stole the limelight wowing the ladies with a topless dance to LMFAO's Sexy And I Know It.

Next week promises to be even better if the trainers, and national treasures, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are right. The pair, who remain the only skating couple to receive full marks in a competition, said the levels of performance were increasing week after week with Torvill saying she was glad she was not a judge.

Spence was in agreement saying the panel were not far away from giving their first full 10 points vote: "Each week the performances keep getting better and better, just that extra little bit of magic we need to see to give the 10 but we are very close."
