Andrew Lansley Heckled By Doctor: 'Your Bill Is Rubbish And You Know It' (VIDEO)

Andrew Lansley has been angrily heckled by a doctor over his controversial plans to reform the National Health Service.

Protected by police officers and pursued by photographers, the health secretary calmly ignored shouts as he paid a visit to the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead on Monday afternoon.

"I'm a doctor of 30 years Mr Lansley, explain to me how this is going to make patients better," a man's voice can be heard shouting.

"Nobody understands your bill. It has a thousand amendments because it was so poorly drafted."

He adds: "The bill is rubbish and you know it."

Another protester is heard to yell: "Shame on you Andrew Lansley".

As one employee of the hospital told the Huffington Post UK: "I wouldn't have thought a hospital would be the safest place for him."

Towards the end of the video a familiar face is visible. June Hautot, who gained fifteen minutes of fame for confronting Lansley outside Downing Street can be seen in the corridor holding a sign that reads "stop the codswallop".

Monday's incident is not the first time ministers have been shouted at by medical staff. Last year David Cameron and Nick Clegg were told off for ignoring hospital procedure by failing to roll up their sleeves.

I only wish we could all stand up and voice our objections to Mr Lansley - however, he and his coalition friends are arrogant enough to keep on ignoring the people of this country even then.

It's such a pity we can't just march into the Houses of Parliament and throw the whole lot out, after all they didn't actually win an overall majority any of them. It is past time for them to admit the mess they are making of this country and leave. They have after all failed on the majority of their promises - less immigration being one and the NHS being safe in their hands another. What a shower!

here's another fact ,i will refer to this person as x,x is fighting for his life, being treated and is now taken off the once known incapacity benefit, for the new simpler'emergency and support allowance',according to cameron, now x is told to have a medical,at the e.s.a.place,is immediately told to go home and get into bed, because the med person is horrified at how ill the person looks,,a few months later x is told you are now in catergory fit to look for work! alarmed x appeals,is told you have to proove the drugs being given to save your life are causing you harm!,apart from side effects no one knows if treatment will work untill course is finished, lastly how can one be assessed if told to go home to bed, these sad true stories are plenty

This NHS bill for reforms has become a farse, a commedy of errors, a joke and more than ever a nightmare. It is such a badly condtructed piece of legislation, that it is diddicult to understand how it could possible have gone so far before being dropped as an almighty fiasco. It is an indictement of how poor the concepts were from the very beginning and how misleading the main planks of this bill must have been if even the medical professions were taken in at the first scrutiny. It took quite a long time and a lot of effort to produce this monster which is now the size of an old Telephone Directory with over one thousand amendments. Whoever scrutinised the original version of this bill must have been under the illusion that because some of the concepts were so abstruse, convoluted and indeed incomprehensible that this bill will be approved without any ado. Well they have been proven wrong and forced to swallow their pride more than once with the expression "pose and listen".
The next Congress of the Liberal Democrats will give this bill the coup de grace.

Those of us who are old enough to remember the Thatcher years will also remember that the Tories tried to dismantle the nhs then as well. Working class people were saving up to pay for private consultations just to seen by a specialist. The Tories are at it again, and must be stopped.

They must be stopped-this obscene bill must not go through!

All monies generated by so called effiencies should be ploughed back into the NHS,and not into some shareholder's pocket.Let the doctors and medical staff decide on what's good for the NHS not an untrained MP.

The private healthcare market need to restrain the NHS in order to survive so BIG DAVE is obliging whatever the cost in reducing National Health to "a benefits claim for paupers" and then to propose that those who need it must be means tested

it's all about private health care companies, nothing else.

Cameron and Lansley are so confident about their bill when trying to convince people in the comfort of Parliament or some cosy TV studio-i'd like to see them try and put it across in an open air rally in Hyde Park or Trafalgar Square and see how long they'd last.

In other countries medical providers are paid to keep people healthy, focusing on proactive healthcare over reactive. America deserves better. That’s why I’ll be voting for Rocky Anderson in 2012. Visit voterocky.org

That Doctor is telling the truth. Greedy, greedy tories are in the pockets of the private healthcare companies. Generations of people have being paying tax for years to build the NHS and this appalling government want to steal it from us. We must not let them!

how bad is it when a MP needs police protection form the members of the public he's supposed to serve ? How many police officers were involved there about 7-8, shouldent they be out policing the streets, instead of helping this MP hide ?
