Dog Loves Toy Mouse More Than Anything Else In The World... Until The Battery Runs Out (VIDEO)

Maymo is just a dog. Just a dog who loves playing with his toy mouse very, very much. But imagine poor Maymo's disappointment when his best, mousiest friend in the world when he runs out of battery...

Put it this way, he's distraught. But until Mousey here runs out of juice, there's not pooch on this planet who's happier. Seriously, we doubt any animal - humans included - has ever been this amused by a toy mouse.

To see what we mean, click play on the video above, and prepare to feel incredibly excited by proxy. "Mouse! Mouse! Mouse! Mouse! Mouse!", he seems to be thinking. Has to be thinking, really.

And for more dog-based cuteness, check out our dog tricks video gallery below. Is jumping up and down near a toy mouse a trick? We like to think so...

That little Jack Russell Uggie lookalike shows how this breed should be handled. They are super intelligent and needs lots of play, challenges and attention. My worry is that after The Artist, people will buy these Uggie dogs but won't put in the work, leaving them untrained and bored. If people do that with Jack Russells, they become the dogs from hell - totally disobedient and generally destructive - and will end up being dumped in animal rescue centres for rehoming. Nobody will want them and they will end up being put down through human stupidity.

I would say that is true of a lot of breeds and owners.

Unfortunately, it's not just dogs who are treated as novelties after being featured in the media. I'm the owner of a 12 year old black and white cat who was given to a child as a gift because he loved the 'Felix' cat.

Suffice it to say, at 5 weeks (far too young to be from his mother, but that's another story) he didn't perform the tricks the cartoon cat did and within days the child was bored of him. When his owner handed him over to me (after I had threatened her with the RSPCA and police), his tail had been broken (the child had decided she didn't like the white tip and had tried to snap it off) and she and her siblings had been throwing him back and forth between them like a ball. It took many months of hard work and visits to the vet to repair the physical and psychological damage done to him. I too wish people would look beyond the cute factor of both highly trained animal actors and cartoons and realise that an animal is a living creature who will require time, attention and care for it's entire life.

It's just a dog playing with his toy, hardly animal abuse .
