Every year, we highlight inspirational women who have touched our lives and demonstrated the best of women-doing-stuff-ness for International Women's Day. This year, we've decided to give a shout out to the fabulous world of female detectives and crime solvers in fiction.

From Angela Lansbury's Jessica Fletcher (talented author, police out-smarter and regular saviour of her nephew, Grady) to Nancy Drew (schoolgirl detective whose adventures everyone at MyDaily adored growing up) and from Maddie Magellan (hotheaded, determined and resourceful where partner in crime, Jonathan Creek, was passive and quiet) to Precious Ramotswe (cutting a commanding and wise figure as Botswana's only female detective), these ladies have showcased a huge range of abilities without ending up just being rescued by blokes.
