Putin Goes Shooting In Russia After Victorious Week (PICTURES)

PICTURES: President-Elect Putin Picks Up His Rifle

Russian prime minister and president-elect Vladimir Putin has picked up a rifle to prove his shooting prowess on a tour of a sports complex.

Putin was pictured aiming the sport gun at the Russian national championships for athletes with locomotor and vision disorders in the Laura complex outside Sochi.

Putin was elected president on Sunday with around 63% of the vote in a poll hit by allegations of voter fraud and in which one major rival was not allowed to stand.

The former and future president wept in front of a cheering crowd in Moscow after his election victory and proclaimed: "I promised you we would win, and we won."

Yesterday Putin was pictured with former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi and outgoing Russian president Dmitry Medvedev drinking hot wine at the Krasnaya Polyvana ski resort where the 2014 winter Olympics will be held.

The party enjoyed a lavish feast on wooden benches lined with fur, and toasted the new president's victory.

Putin is of course no stranger to physical activity.

Over the years he's done everything from showcasing his brutal swimming stroke to the uncompromising force of his quad-bike technique.
