JLS star Aston Merrygold had to be rescued from a swimming pool this week after he got stuck underwater during a video shoot.
The boy band were filming in a pool in Essex when Aston got his foot caught on a camera cable, and lifeguards had to dive in to save him from drowning.
The filming, which took place at a sports centre in Basildon, Essex, was for a set of videos to be shown at the band's upcoming 4th Dimension Arena tour.
Luckily, it seems Aston was back to his old self after the incident. The insider says that once he had recovered, Aston was disappointed that he had been rescued by a couple of blokes rather than female lifeguards.
He will no doubt be requesting a Pamela Anderson lookalike to be on hand next time he takes a dip.

What a load of rubbish. I used to do film lighting years ago and any scene shot in a swimming pool meant a diver had to be in the water at the same time. Health and safety requirement. Aston who?? But he didn't drown so therefore it's not news. I expect he didn't get run over by a car today but that wasn't reported!

Actually, bjrenterprises has a very valid point. Performers are very heavily insured, and safeguards will have been put into place. I expect the press agent made the most out of this for publicity.
