Radiohead Gig Targeted By Anti-Gay Group In Kansas City

Radiohead Targeted By Religious Extremists

Radiohead became the latest act to be targeted by members of religious extremist group the Westboro Baptist Church when their show in Missouri was picketed by angry activists on Saturday.

The anti-gay protesters lay in wait for the band as they arrived at the venue in Kansas City and became a talking point on the organisation's website.

One post read, "God is undoing this nation and effecting (sic) all of your lives, with the moth that quietly eats the very fabric of your national garment. Radiohead is just such an event. Freak monkey's (sic) with mediocre tunes keeps you busy and focused by lightness."

However, Radiohead refused to let the protest upset them and they actually found the backlash a little amusing.

The band's producer, Nigel Godrich, even tweeted that the protest was the "highlight" of the US tour.

He posted a picture of the picket line and wrote: "Highlight of the tour so far... Being picketed by Westboro Baptist Church this evening.. Hoorah!... Freak monkeys with mediocre tunes... New band concept."
