Parents are claiming their children were left "humiliated" after police officers searched 10 pupils for drugs during school time as a result of a tip off.
Police paid a visit to John Port School in Etwall, Derbyshire, last Friday following information they and the school had received "from the community" regarding drugs.
The students from Year 11 were searched by officers at the academy, which last year Ofsted deemed "outstanding", and two were arrested after police found what they believed to be drugs.
But the mother of two of the boys involved said it was an "intimidating experience" which left them "humiliated".
The two boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled drugs but have not been charged. The teenagers have been released on street bail while the police analyse the suspected drugs.
A spokesperson for Derby Constabulary said: "Derbyshire police always acts on any information it receives about drugs and will work in partnership with schools to help keep students, staff and the wider community safe."
Both the police and schools have the powers to search pupils without consent if they believe a student has drugs in their possession.
