Russell Brand Is A Wanted Man In America

Posted: 15/03/2012 07:16 Updated: 15/03/2012 07:16   WENN

New Orleans police officials are far from amused by funnyman Russell Brand - they have issued a warrant for his arrest over his recent run-in with a paparazzo.

Russell was accused of hurling photographer Timothy Jackson's mobile phone through the window of an abandoned building in the city on Monday and the snapper filed a police report, citing "criminal damages".

US cops took the claim seriously and began an investigation into the incident, and now authorities have given them the go-ahead to bring the actor in.

A misdemeanour warrant for simple criminal damage to property was issued on Wednesday night, according to TMZ.com.

Russell, who is currently filming a movie in New Orleans, has already offered to pay for the broken window and he must be hoping the police eventually see the funny side of his antics.

I'm just happy he's where he belongs: as far away from me as possible.

Good for Russel, I can imagine the exciting Topics that the Parrazzi was shouting at him concerning his time with Miss Perry. Certain times a person should be able to smoke a paparrazzi, is there anyone really who believes the paparrazzi was just an inicent bystander and that Russel went out of his way to annoy get real.

he threw a phone from a stalker and this is grounds for a warrant.......what would TMZ do without these great "reporters" that wait for celebrities to leave airports...bars.....restaurants......

You know.....I kind of see a BASIL FAWLTY in him. I think he would be great heading up a new fawlty towers series. Hmmmm....just a thought.

Sorry Paparazzi, you get no sympathy here.
Russell Brand is hysterically funny and you following him everywhere is just sad. I don't understand the preoccupation with the private lives of stars.....I don't get it. I enjoy watching them when they are entertaining, but aside from that, I wish them well and I am busy living my own life.

I think it should be legal to punch the paparazzi in the face. Look what happened to Princess Di.

Russell Brand is brilliant, and he is wanted here. Regarding "the incident"...how does this not happen regularly? How can anyone stand those cameras in their faces all day, every day, recording every act and articulation. Who can't say these parasites are irritating enough to want to make one throw something now and then?

Well, he may be wanted over there, but he certainly isn't wanted over here.

Funnyman? Not a very appropriate term for this waste of oxygen.

So mean. He's not funny in general, ok, but I thought Forgetting Sarah Marshall was pretty good. "Waste of oxygen" seems a little harsh.

the guy should have grabbed brand and threw him out the window, what a waste of skin.

Only people I dislike more than Russell Brand are the paparazzi.

Aw, C'mon. 'We' as a society only get the paparazzi 'we' deserve. If 'we' didn't buy into the cr*p that the Press offers us, there would be no demand for it, nor for the services of paparazzi anyway. How could anyone possibly dislike paparazzi more than they dislike Brand ?

"We" shouldn't include anyone who doesn't have a subscription to US Weekly. I'm always impressed with people like Jon Stewart and Thom Yorke, who manage to keep their personal lives entirely out of the tabloids.

The US is like a Police State nowadays , watch everyone , arrest everyone , the paparazzi are stalkers.
