Do you dare to find out how smart you really are? Mensa's new brain test mobile phone app for Android, BlackBerry and Windows phones and is already out on iPhone, will unveil your true IQ.

The official American Mensa Brain Test app uses Mensa-approved questions to test your problem solving skills, using logic, mathematics, language and visual tests.

Mensa is the worldwide organisation for people with IQs in the top two percent of the population.

The app has 20 short questions, 40 medium questions and 60 long questions which won't get you into Mensa, but should make for some great brain exercise.

Mensa Brain Test users can post their test score certificate to Facebook, and check their improvement through a local score table.

American Mensa executive director, Pamela Donahoo, said: "The app is a great way to train your brain and we hope to see app users at our Mensa Admission test sessions in the coming year."

When you have completed all the questions, you will be given your personal test certificate, allowing you to gauge whether you might have what it takes to join Mensa, and the top two percent of the population.

Online discussions suggest you avoid putting any mention of Mensa on your CV if you want to get hired, however. On the social networking site Linkedin, some users suggest that managers discriminate against Mensa memberships, and that it could be considered intimidating.

Mensa was founded in England in 1946 by Roland Berrill and Dr Lance Ware, to form a non-political society for bright people, free from discrimination. The only entry requirement is a high IQ. Mensa has 110,000 members in 100 countries around the world.

What is so "surprising" about Carol Vorderman being a member of MENSA?

All very well having a really high IQ, but I don't think many of them can change a light bulb or put a plug on a kettle,

raysparx - But they are probably clever enough to buy a kettle with a sealed plug already attached and long life lightbulbs with a 30000 hour life - if they are not they are probably under the table rather than members of MENSA - the Latin word for " table " .

The kettle needs plugging in,so do the lighbulbs, thats why these people pay me and I earn a good living doing jobs these people haven't a clue about,

I think you will find they can, and they are probably your boss.

No, I don't have a boss, I am self employed and have been for 35 years, So I could say I have very high IQ as I don't need anybody telling me what to do, I can actually do my own thinking.
