Budget 2012: Live Coverage

LIVE: Budget Day - Full Coverage On Our Liveblog

George Osborne is expected to use his 2012 Budget to cut taxes at both ends of society.

He'll be raising the threshold at which people start to pay income tax above £9,000, but also cutting the 50p top rate of tax for the wealthy.

The cuts in tax are expected to be funded by stiffer penalties on stamp duty for the most expensive homes, along with making it harder for the wealthy to avoid paying the taxman.
