The search giant is calling for a "Doodler" to be based at its Mountain View, California offices, to produce its stream of diverse Google doodles.
In a rare commercial opportunity for someone with a fine arts degree, the job ad says the new Google doodler will "have the reins to our brand and iconic logo and can run free with your innovative ideas."
If you want to apply, you just need four years' experience in some artful field, or a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Google writes in the ad: "Every day, hundreds of millions of online users visit the Google homepage. Yes, to search. But also, to be delighted, informed, and surprised (and maybe even to laugh a little). The Google Doodle makes this possible"
Jennifer Hom, a Google doodler from Long Island, told the Long Island Press how a doodler's day runs. Each morning, the doodlers gather for a “creative meeting, draw on whiteboards and post its, contact the right people, and after all the hard work is done, Google puts it up for millions to see."
"It’s really fun,” she told the Press. "It's kind of strange, I’m not really used to more than 40 people at once looking at my work."
Are you up for the job? Would you move to California for the chance to put your mark on Google doodles?
