Lauryn Hill hasn't performed in the UK for more than five years, so it is with great anticipation that her fans have learned today the former Fugees singer will be appearing in London next month.
The 36-year-old singer first found fame with the Fugees, whose successes included the global hit version of Killing Me Softly With His Song.
With her first solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, she enjoyed more commercial success as well as critical acclaim, garnering five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, and Best New Artist.
She was formerly married to Bob Marley's son Rohan, and is now the mother of six children. Her appearances in the last few years have been rare and fleeting, mostly at festivals and on soundtrack compilations.
