Meet Speedy – the pure white cat with one blue eye and one gold.

With her mismatched gaze, Speedy bears more than a passing resemblance to the pop star David Bowie.

Bowie famously has bi-coloured eyes, the result of a fistfight with a friend over a girl.

The-then teenage musician was struck in the eye with a ring, leaving him with faulty depth perception and a permanently dilated pupil.

There were no playground fights for this fluffy feline however, who has a form of complete heterochromia, a condition caused when the epistatic (dominant) white gene or the white spotting gene prevents pigment from reaching one eye during development.

Speedy, who is deaf, is a regular visitor to Sir Speedy Printing and Marketing in Norfolk, Virginia, where these pictures were taken.
