Add Enemies On Facebook With EnemyGraph

In the Art of War, Sun Tzu wrote "keep your friends close and your enemies closer".

Now you can take the Chinese military general's ancient advice into the social media age with EnemyGraph on Facebook.

EnemyGraph allows you to add a list of enemies on Facebook, much as you would add friends, for the whole Facebook community to see.

Hate an ex, a rude shopkeep, an annoying brand or a particular vegetable? They're ripe for adding to this EnemyGraph.

The plug-in was developed by Dean Terry, director of the emerging-media program at the University of Texas at Dallas, Bradley Griffith, a graduate student there and Harrison Massey, an undergraduate.

Terry told The FW: "We’re using ‘enemy’ in the same loose way that Facebook uses ‘friends’. It really just means something you have an issue with."

You can add anything, or anyone to your EnemyGraph. Terry writes on his blog that during testing q-tips, politicians, music groups and maths were trending enemies.

Terry says that "EnemyGraph is a kind of social media blasphemy" and "a critique the social philosophy of Facebook".

Current trending enemies on the app include Rick Santorum, Tea Party Activitsts and cigarettes.

If you find yourself with enough time to devote to real enemies, remember this quote from The Godfather "Never hate your enemies, it affects your judgement."

Will you add the EnemyGraph plug-in to your Facebook page? Who would you add to your enemies list?

I don't understand why people put up with cyber bullying. All the modern gadgets have a block app for this sort of thing. I.E. mobile phones, ISP, Facebook etc ALL have a blocking app. USE IT AND YOU WILL NOT BE BULLIED. simple. (or do these people like the attention) this is MY PERSONAL OPINION so don't get your knickers in a twist.

As a victim of cyber bullying i think this is totally the wrong thing to encourage.

Did no one ever realize that the purpose of social networks such as Facebook and Linkedin for so-called proffesionals was always just a cheap means by which the security forces of the world could partially enact George Orwell's "1984"? If not, then it is used that way.

At the same time be even more dishonest than what we viewed in the book 1984 by fooling most at the start up of such social networks that ones details were safe and secure.

The younger generation are amazing what they will put on Facebook and I do not know why they do not type it all down on sheets of A4 paper, and then stick these to shop windows, put on notice boards in supermarkets etc and even hang the notices on lampposts.

There is enough bullying going on with facebook, why make it any worse? I don't have any interest in it at all. What I get up to in my life is private. If anyone has issues with me they can tell me to my face and risk the consequences.

no wonder the worlds in a mess and the moon is changing shape,if its cool to hate, yet uncool to love thy neighbour

So basically hatred is now being encouraged and all kinds of people will add all kinds of other people, leaving them vulnerable to more online abuse, if they haven't actually done anything wrong?

ie misinterpretation of a situation or action.

Yes .... The enemies don't deserve the time we could lost thinking on enemies!
