Is Cameron a gourmet?

As the "pasty tax" row heats up, Ed Miliband tried to steal a march on the Prime Minister by visiting a Greggs to enjoy a pasty with Ed Balls and Rachel Reeves.

The boss of Greggs called Cameron "out of touch", while Cameron has insisted he loves pasties.

He said:

"I am a pasty eater myself, I go to Cornwall on holiday, I love a hot pasty.

"I think the last one I bought was from the West Cornwall Pasty Company. I seem to remember I was in Leeds station at the time and the choice was whether to have one of their small ones or large ones, and I have a feeling I opted for the large one and very good it was too."

However, some have doubted Cameron's pasty anecdote - as the "West Cornwall Pasty Company" closed 5 years ago.

George Osborne has faced opposition from MPs and some businesses over the decision last week's Budget to add 20% VAT on hot pasties and pies that are served "above ambient temperature".

To mark this burning issue, we looked back at all the culinary delights Cameron has gone for over the past.

You can draw your own conclusions about his diet...

I think it's a bad idea taxing food in general, hot or cold. People shouldn't have to pay a tax to live.

For next they'll be taxing the air we breathe.
