Amateur stargazers, this is your day. Hubble is opening its archive for you to get your hands on their images, use their pro astronomy software and possibly win prizes.
We've been thrilled for two decades by the colourful imagery from Hubble, which are all adjusted and coloured by Hubble's own experts.
But now it's your turn. The huge Hubble Legacy Archive, with many never-before-seen images, is now open to the public for the first time.
You could win an iPod touch by digging out a data set, adjusting the contrast and colours using the the easy online tools and then sharing your work on Hubble's Flickr group.
An iPad is also up for grabs when you touch up a Hubble image using the same software that the professionals use. You'll find the open-source software ESO/ESA/NASA FITS Liberator on Hubble's site.
When you're happy with your brilliant image, share it on the Flickr group. We will also feature the best images on The Huffington Post.
