Leonardo DiCaprio cringed when he re-watched Titanic

Leonardo DiCaprio cringed in embarrassment when he recently revisited his 1997 blockbuster Titanic.

Director James Cameron and DiCaprio's co-star Kate Winslet stepped out in London on Tuesday night for the premiere of a new 3D version of the film.

DiCaprio never made it to the red carpet, but Cameron revealed his former leading man was left red-faced when he recently re-watched the film.

Cameron said: "I wish Leo could be here but he's shooting a film.

"It would have been great for Leo to be here, to be part of the celebrations. I didn't show him the whole film but I showed him 18 minutes of it a few months ago. It was a good reunion for us but great to watch his reaction.

"He couldn't believe it. He said to me, 'I'm such a young punk. Look at me.' He was practically crawling under the seat. It was a good moment."

We all feel that way when we see ourselves from years ago, when we were younger. They are having the same reaction anyone would have about themselves. I just find it strange that they haven't seen this film in years ,you would think they would pop in the dvd player every once in awhile just to revisit. And I don't think he literally meant to call himself a punk. I think he was talking about his young acting. Even in acting, actors can see how much they have grown up and matured since a film was made years ago.

Oddly I don't see any difference in his acting then or now. Only now I think he really thinks he is something else. Too bad he cannot see that he plays the same character in every damn movie lately.

I met Leo right before Titanic was released, he was not a punk, ...Leo you were gracious and fun and showed respect for me when I introduced myself. (my daughter had done his make up for a photo shoot). I will always think of you as a wonderful young man and hope you still have the same fun out look on life.

So he should be!, it's like Brad Pitt never understood the appeal, especially now!

If I were him, I'd have cringed too.
