Beatles fans will be up in arms after learning Paul McCartney met with an unfortunate end today.

It's not the first time the Liverpool lad has fallen foul of a Twitter death hoax, and it probably won't be the last.
It's unknown how the rumour began, but we sense the Mail Online may have started the ball rolling this morning when it referred to Sir Paul as "the last surviving Beatle".
The error has since been rectified, although what Ringo made of this is anyone's guess...might the slighted drummer in fact have sown the seeds and masterminded the whole thing in retaliation?!

As well as Sir Paul, Cher, Rihanna, Mick Hucknall and Jon Bon Jovi are just some of the others who have had grossly exaggerated news of their demise splashed across the micro-blogging site.
