Belfast Shooting Leaves Father And Daughter In "Critical" Condition

A man and his teenage daughter were injured in a drive-by shooting in north Belfast today.

He was hit at least twice when they were ambushed outside a house at Evelyn Gardens, Skegoneill.

The girl, aged 18, was also rushed to hospital. The pair were either in or about to get into a car at the time.

It is understood gunmen pulled up in a van and fired five times. The man, aged 47, was believed to be the intended target.

One unconfirmed report claimed the gunman involved was masked.

The hospital condition of the two injured was not immediately known, but it is believed the injuries are not life-threatening.

Later a spokesperson at the Royal Victoria Hospital described the conditions of the two victims as "critical".
