A mother claims a drunken stranger broke into her home and tried to BREASTFEED her two-month-old baby!

The mum, from eastern South Dakota, was woken up by her dogs and went downstairs to find the apparently drunk woman trying to feed her daughter.

The shocked mother called the police who arrested the woman and took her away.

According to police, after attempting to feed the baby, Rebecca Silva, the 24-year-old suspect, crawled into bed and proceeded to treat the house as her own.

Silva denied the allegations, and claimed she did not try to feed the infant, and that she had been invited into the home.

"I did not break into her house. She invited me in," Silva said. "She gave me her pyjamas. She lied to the cops that I broke into her house.

"I did not try to feed her baby. That didn't happen."

She said she remembered having an argument with the mother, after having been drinking.

The child's mother was able to safely take her daughter away from Silva until police arrived. Silva was arrested and charged with unlawful occupancy.

Hmm, all a bit odd. We're very glad the little girl was unharmed.
