A six year-old boy has no hair, lips or eyelids after his face was burnt off after he set himself on fire.

The astonishing bravery of Wang Xiaopeng has been revealed two years after the horrific accident two years ago.

His face is almost featureless and he also lost his fingers after the accident which happened while he was lighting a pile of corn straw with a cigarette lighter.

Wang does not go to school, as no schools will admit him, and he only has a few friends who have got used to his appearance.

Wang's desperate family have spent their live savings - close to 150,000 Yuan - on bills at the hospital that saved his life.

But his doting parents have now run out of money and had to check him out.

The couple have sold their house and are living on just a tiny patch of land.

Doctor Li Jinning, from Ningxia Medical University hospital, said Xiaopeng needs at least three phases of surgeries to resume a "human" shape. Each phase may cost 100,000 Yuan - roughly the equivalent of £10,000 in British money.
