Liam Neeson and Rihanna's new Battleship blockbuster has sailed to the top of the UK box office, sinking Titanic 3D.
Battleship made waves during its debut weekend, hauling £3.7m in ticket sales and leaving James Cameron's disaster epic trailing in its wake with £1.8m. The 3D re-release slips to second place.
Cameron won't be too upset, however - the film has cruised past the $2b mark in overall ticket sales. Only one other film has achieved greater monetary success - Cameron's 2009 blockbuster Avatar, which earned a total of $2.8b.
Horror movie The Cabin in the Woods was close behind with £1.6m, while The Hunger Games drops two places to fourth.Rounding out the top five is animated children's movie The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, which sailed away with takings of £1.4m.
