This is the moment a furious airline passenger strips in front of adults and children in protest against airport security procedures.

John Brennan, 50, was stopped by staff at Portland International Airport in the USA before his flight to San Jose, California.

The frequent flyer claimed the airport staff "harassed" him to the point that he stripped off completely to show them he wasn’t carrying explosives.

Police charged the portly passenger with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure following the incident, which happened in front of shocked and amused onlookers.

Bearded Brennan, who was sober at the time, was eventually covered up with a towel and carted off into custody by officers, missing his flight.

He later said: "I felt hassled. They said I had nitrates and I said that's it. They just pushed me too far.

"I took my clothes off to show them I was not carrying any explosives."

A report filed by Portland Police said Mr Brennan had "disrobed as a form of protest against TSA screeners who he felt were harassing him".

It added: "Mr Brennan's actions caused two screening lanes to be closed and while some passengers covered their eyes and their children's eyes and moved away from the screening area, others stepped out of the screening lanes to look, laugh and take photos of Mr Brennan."

So TSA can grope our privates in the middle of the terminal, demand we remove clothing belts, shoes and other items then take a picture of naked in the scanners or strip search us in a back room and this guy is the one arrested for indecency?

He had enough of the TSA’s humiliating and degrading treatment of airline passengers and took a stand. He should be commended for standing up for our rights.

This is a product of TSA’s assault on our morals and sense of propriety. TSA has done more damage to our liberty, way of life and morality than Al Qaeda could have ever hoped to do.

good on him ,i gave up flying because of the office worker mentality of security checks =hurry up take your shoes off ,take your belt off BEEP stand over here ,its a zip mate every pair of fking jeans comes with one ,ok you can go ,scanners sniffers people toshing through your cases ,i had a cd broken by German customs problem was it was the driver for my new camera .

In brittany we were herded like cattle , British cattle as no French nationals were called, cases were toshed over twice and when people complained the manager who did not want to know sent for a security guard who had his hand on his gun it did not worry me it just pissed me off, but others were put off .so now i dont fly i had enough of it, how many others are like me and gave up ,no one is saying did the airlines loose a lot of money over people not flying ,of course they did ,i used used to fly at least twice a year ,they can keep it !

The Children, The Children! Think of the Children! Their lives are ruined! I say shoot them now and spare them the horror of an existence scarred by a completely natural and utterly trivial event.

I am absolutely gob smacked that people are so prudish. Do parents really think young Timmy and Emma are going to be scarred for life by a naked man protesting? By shielding them they're doing more damage than good - passing on the message that nakedness is somehow bad, even if the message isn't sexually aggressive in any shape or form. If anything all the parents end up doing is shielding the children from the parent's own embarrassment.
