Salmon Fishing In The Yemen Made Emily Blunt Seasick

Emily Blunt's new film Salmon Fishing In The Yemen brought up unhappy memories from her childhood - she suffered from seasickness during family angling trips.

The actress plays a consultant who convinces Ewan McGregor's character to set up a salmon-filled river for a sheikh in the desert country, but Blunt needed convincing to take to the water again after many uncomfortable holidays on her father's boat.

She tells the Daily Record, "He loves to do deep sea fishing, which means huge waves.

"We would go off the coast of Scotland and Cornwall and dad would book these eight hour fishing trips and I'd just be hurling (being sick) off the side of the boat the whole time. I don't have good sea legs."

Blunt also reveals McGregor persuaded her to take up fishing for real while they filmed in the Scottish highlands: "I didn't want to. I was happy sitting by the fireplace in our Scottish pub - but Ewan just insisted."
