How time flies. Would you believe Suri Cruise is now six years old?

We remember when she was being carried around by her mother.

Oh.

Yes, despite Suri's advancing years, mum Katie Holmes is still cradling her daughter like a baby.

The pair were out in New York yesterday to celebrate Suri's birthday with a trip to see Disney's Newsies: The Musical on Broadway.

When we were six, we were lucky if we were allowed a few friends over for a game of musical chairs and some pineapple and cheese on a stick.

But then we weren't the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Although we wish we were - we'd never have to walk anywhere ever again.

That blanket has been about for a very long time if you look at the older photos. Perhaps it is a Suri favourite as happens with a lot of little ones. Her mother has a coat on and so it must be quite cold, but it is Suri's birthday and she may have been given the choice of wearing what ever she wanted for her special day. Little girls dont always make the best choices and mothers have to make the best of a bad situation because they cant go back on their promises. She may have carried her because she was tired, grumpy and not at all happy about being bustled by the paps. All very understandable if you have ever had a child of your own.
At the end of the day Suri is a beautiful, well loved little girl of six. Atleast by her mother as I have never seen any pictures of Tom with her which seems strange. I never understood why Katie married him, but she was very young. Anyway, I hope she had fun which is all that matters at the end of the day.

There is a very strange fixation with this girl.

Usually, if strange men stalk children, taking pictures of them, they end up being arrested and put on the sex offender's register.

Poor little rich girls! Are we to believe that New York is in the middle of a heat wave? Looking at what Suri is wearing it's no wonder she wanted to be carried, probably to get warm.

Now, the carrying in this instance is warranted, given it's through a horde of paps. However, she doesn't have that excuse 90% of the time she's photographed. Why though, Katie thinks it's necessary to still carry a blanket around everywhere she goes with Suri amazes me - she's 6, not 6 months - If she's cold, wrap her up in more than a cotton dress. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a more petulant, pissy looking child. The way they treat the girl, you can understand why.

Who wrote that article? all I can say is this, who ever wrote it obviously had a very unloving upbringing if they think Katie is wrong to pick up her six yr old and cuddle her.

she's just giving her little girl a cuddle whats wrong with that? must be scary for her with all the photographers crowding round she's just giving her girl some comfort and doesnt mean that she carries her everywhere!!

Being carried around at 6 is bad but wrapped in a blanket is really ott. Her Mum has never totally grown up and it looks as tho she wants Suri to follow in her footsteps.

From the pictures I have seen of Suri Cruise, she is quite comfortable with, and used to being photographed. I think she is getting to the point where she will require constant media attention.
