Oreo cookies have come under fire after a controversial advert featuring a breastfeeding baby with the slogan; ‘Milk’s Favourite Cookie’ was leaked online.

The Cheil Worldwide Agency, a South Korean advertising agency, created the provocative advert, including an image of an Asian baby suckling on a fully exposed breast and nipple.

The leaked advert has created quite a stir on Twitter. See a round-up of the mixed reactions below:

In response to the uproar, the creators have come forward, claiming the advert was never intended to reach the public domain...

A representative from Kraft Foods, owner of Nabisco which produce Oreos, claim that the ad was created for a one-time use at an advertising forum and was not intended to go public.

The food company released a statement saying: “Our understanding is that they created it for use at an isolated advertising awards forum in Korea. It was never intended for consumer advertising or public distribution.”

Take a look at Oreo biscuit adverts that did make it to our TV screens - old and new.

What outrage? The article says there is outrage, but then points to none (read through the tweets).

Can't really dunk an Oreo into that particular drink though, can you?
And why blur out a nipple. We've all seen one of those. What prudes!

Who are these people who feel OUTRAGED. What prudes to turn something beautiful and natural into something obscene.

Where is the outrage? They gave Janet Jackson hell for showing the breast that white children were raised on during slavery.

Caucasian people should honor the Black Breast it help their ancestors to grow strong.

Peace !

Why the heck are you going on about a black breast? This is a lovely white one!
(And I don't think any white children were raised on Janet Jackson's breast!!)

You do not get the point. It is over your head. Study and read, The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews Vol. II and Jews Selling Blacks. View "Roots" you will have a better picture.

Peace!

This is just plain ridiculous. I had 4 children and breast fed them all for the first year of their lives. But one thing is for damned sure I didn't give them Oreo cookies. The picture of the suckling baby is beautiful but it does not belong in an Oreo Cookie ad. Oreo's and breast milk are NOT a team and they do not go together. Back to the drawing board boy's. Yes boy's. I bet that this was not the idea of a woman. Especially a mother. Yikes. Is nothing sacred anymore??

It's boys, "mom", not boy's. Is nothing sacred anymore... in the English language??

Is the Huffpost now asking us to use our perverted imagination to complete that image?

Speak for yourself. Your imagination may be perverted, but not everyone else is...

I get that judging others makes you feel better about yourself, though.

I'm completely flummoxed by the digital obfuscation of a nipple in the mouth of a baby despite the full display of a whole female breast, what a turn on that would be, hey! I would immediately feel the need to rape someone, or think some totally unwholesome thoughts. Except that someone would perhaps say ' well, why do you need to see the nipple, you know what's going on, right?

Even more bizarre, the American Huffington Post shows the full Monty:

I thought the Americans, in general, were more bothered by this kind of thing than us?!

If you dunk an oreo in milk it just takes like "cr*p milk"
I like cookies- I do not like oreos.
I like milk-In tea- I was weaned many years ago.
I despair of the amount of money companies pay to PR firms who cannot make a decent advert!
